Inside and Around the house

Perfect Location

Set in the middle of stunning Upper Slaughter, the Old School House overlooks the village green and the famous ford. From the kitchen window you can watch the world go by, or see animals in the local fields.

Relaxing Downstairs

Via the front door, you come through the loggia. You can hang your coats where school children used to hang theirs. Come through to the large sitting room with sofas and relax in front of the large open fire. Next door, the kitchen with craftsmen built shaker-style cupboards has every modern convenience: Neff oven, dishwasher etc etc.

Leading on from the sitting room is a hallway with shower room/lavatory leading onto the dining room/third bedroom.

Two Bedrooms Upstairs

The large landng at the top of the stairs leads to the two double bedrooms and the bathroom. Both bedrooms have large wardrobes. There is a very comfortable single sleeping platform just off the landing.

Stunning Views Outside

At the back of the house, leading out beyond the kitchen, is a sheltered terrace and garden. This is perfect for dinner on a warm evening or a big family lunch.

The garden is surrounded by walls and leads via the drive down to the village green and the River Eye. This is a popular spot for children to paddle and play pooh-sticks between the two small stone bridges.

The Wardens Way, an attractive footpath, passes by the house and is an ideal way to walk off that sunday lunch.

Upper Slaughter is approximately 90 minutes from London by car and 10 minutes from Kingham railway station.

Good and Bad Points

The Old School House is perfect for a rural get-away; for natural beauty; for a base to explore the Cotswolds. It is ideal for families or for romantic couples. Whether you want activity or quiet, this place will suit you. It is within easy access of all the best places to see in Gloucestershire and the Cotswolds.

It is not good if you want noise, night-life, modern living. It is not ideal if you have mobility problems.

Accessibility

This is an old house, with two bedrooms upstairs. Entry to the front and back doors is via a step.
